Presentation Reflections(on whole class)
1. Dress appropriately
2. Talk with a clear voice
3. Speak towards the audience not your board
4. Be confident in your work
5. Stand by your comments and decisions
6. Except criticism, it will only make you better
7. Think positively
8. Smile even when you are getting chewed out completely
9. Care about your work
10. Present with a clean, readable board
11. Make no excuses of why you didn’t put something in your space. Time is not a good reason.
12. Laziness if not acceptable
13. Interact with your board. Act like you are completely comfortable even if you’re not
14. It is okay to be scared of Stoel.
15. Finally, Have fun.
Presentation Day Reflection
Presenting was one of the hardest, most nerve racking things I have ever had to do for a class. All and all I really appreciated the comments made by my professor, teaching assistants, and classmates. However, I was extremely angry at the fact that someone took half my presentation to talk about something that could’ve been discussed after the presentations were over that day. I wish that I had those minutes back so that I could get critiqued more. Even if the things mentioned were things I did wrong or could have improved more on, I still would’ve liked to have more of that. I just found it rude a bit ridiculous.
I did however find out that I AM capable of giving a fair oral presentation. That to me was huge in itself. I also was told in the presentation that my board organization was a bit off and after looking at it I realized that it was. We discovered in class that centralizing the floor plan and then placing the perspectives around it correctly allowed the viewer to put two and two together more simply.
